ACE 15, Lake Oconee 1

          The Gryphons belted out 16 hits and got a six-hit, four-strikeout, four-inning effort from Mary Elizabeth Ballard. She went 4 for 4 with two RBI, while Dixiana Sims went 3 for 4 with three RBI and three runs. Sara Winters, Lizzy Mitchell, Destiny Lucas had two hits each, Lucas and Taylor Anne Martin driving in two each.

GMC 7, ACE 1

          The Bulldogs got all they needed in the first with two. M.K. Lawrence led the way with three hits, while Leah Jannakos drove in three runs with two hits, and Whitley Ward scored three runs and drove in two. Bella Herring fanned eight with no walks in the complete-game seven-hitter.

Houston County 8 Lowndes 0; Houston County 9, Lowndes 1

          The Bears got done in five innings, Rylee Lamb with a four-strikeout, one-walk two-hitter in the opener. Madi Campbell and Makayla Krepps had two hits each and Olivia Brown two RBI for the Bears. Elena Olson and Carley Rollins had two hits each for Houston County in the nightcap, Kendall Huelsman driving in three with a triple. The Bears finished region play 7-1, and are 23-3 overall. They’ll open the region tournament Tuesday at Lee with a doubleheader.

Mount de Sales 9, Lake Oconee 0

          Chloe Nepveaux was on point in the circle, with 11 strikeouts and two walks in five innings. Sarah Hatcher had two hits and two RBI for the Cavs, Henderson Hurdle and Heartly Nepveaux driving in two runs each.

Mount de Sales 2, GMC 1

          Lily Leatherwood scored on a two-out passed ball for the lead run, and then Jordyn Partain needed five pitches to sit GMC down in the bottom of the eighth. She fanned eight with two walks and four hits. Partain had three hits and Sarah Hatcher two for the Cavs. Lea Jannaokos struck out four with no walks and six hits in seven innings for GMC, giving way to Bella Herring for the eight.

Pope 4, Jones County 0

          The Greyhounds were held to three hits in the non-region loss.

Stratford 12, Lincoln County 0

          A seven-run fourth ended it. Mary Elaine Mitchell went 3 for 3 with two runs, the Eagles getting two-hit games from Kenna McElmurray, Taylor Justice and Shorter McCook. McElmurray and McCook drove in two runs, and justice scored three times. McElmurray struck out nine in the four-inning two-hitter.

Tattnall 14, Washington-Wilkes 0

          Despite six errors by W-W, it took Tattnall until the sixth inning to really roll on offense, the Trojans more than double their run total with eight more runs. Kenna Epps drove in three runs on three hits, Courtney Ball with three RBI on two hits. Kaitlyn Hallman also had two hits. Hailey Daughtry threw a two-hitter in six innings, with no strikeouts or walks and on only 51 pitches.

Tattnall 5, Stratford 1

          The Trojans did all their damage in the second. Kaci Paul had three hits and Kaitlyn Hallman two for the Trojans to back Kenna Epps’ complete game. Kenna McElmurray had two hits for the Eagles.

Veterans 2, Thomas County Central 1

          The Warhawks scored two in the top of the ninth and watched TCC start to answer with one in the bottom half. The first run came after two outs, but Emily Myers got the game-ending groundout to herself in the circle. Alli Eidson tripled in Myers with Veterans’ first run, and Eidson came in shortly after on Nicole Chavous’ single to left. Jenna Thomas and Myers each had two hits for the Warhawks, Myers struck out nine with two walks and six hits in nine innings on 120 pitches. The Warhawks are 14-9 overall and finished second in 1-5A.

Region 7-A

          Tattnall will play Mount de Sales Monday at 6 at MdS in the winner’s bracket championship.
