Thursday Southwest-Bleckley County game canceled

The news broke in the morning, that COVID concerns – symptoms, no tests and nothing concretely COVID - had canceled the Bleckley County visit to Southwest and Ed DeFore.

A release from Bibb County athletics noted that nobody had tested positive, and “at this time NO ONE has tested positive for COVID-19 and this may NOT be a case of COVID-19.”

The cancellation may end Southwest’s season, and it won’t be made up. Southwest is 1-5 overall and 0-4 in Region 3-AA play. The release didn’t indicate the status of Southwest’s game next week against Dodge County.

Dodge County is 3-1 in region play, tied with Northeast and Washington County, and Bleckley County 3-2.
