Henley is reeeally in the hunt now
Only three people – including Rory McIlroy – are ahead of Russell Henley when the final round of The Genesis Invitational’s final round starts Sunday.
The Stratford grad is one shot back of McIroy, Adam Scott, and Matt Kuchar, with rounds of 67, 69, and 68.
Henley’s Saturday round was so-so, with three birdies, two bogeys, and an eagle. His first round 67 was the lone bogey-free round in the tournament.
Last year, Henley entered the final round of the tournament having shot69, 73, and 66, but imploded with a Sunday 75, with four bogeys, two birdies, and a double-bogey.
It’s Henley’s best three rounds of this season. He has made only one cut in the last five tournaments before this weekend, but has still played respectable golf.
