Henley struggles, but manages top-20 finish

Bogeys crept up and bit Russell Henley on Sunday, including a double.

The issues dropped Henley from contention at The Genesis Invitational, but the Maconite still was able to salvage a top 20 finish, tying for 17th.

After three quality rounds – 67, 69, and 68 – to start, Henley was fourth entering the final day. And it began well, with a birdie and four straight pars. But two bogeys and a double bogey closed out the front nine, Henley three over. He improved by a stroke on the back nine.

It’s Henley’s best finish of the season, and came after missing five straight cuts. In 10 tournaments, Henley’s final total has been worse than one over par only once. He is at 159 in the FedEx Cup rankings.
