Macon Sports Hall announces Class of 2020
A recent inductee to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, one of his down-the-street active coaching rivals, and a part of Macon’s basketball heritage are among the Class of 2020 for the Macon Sports Hall of Fame.
The ceremony is scheduled for May 5 at the Macon Coliseum’s Monument Room.
Stratford softball coach Jeff Treadway – who joined the state’s hall last month - and Tattnall baseball coach Joey Hiller headline the class, along with former Southwest basketball star Michael Hunt.
Central Georgia tennis guru Randy Stephens joins them, along with longtime Mount de Sales athletics icon Robert Slocum Jr., golf director and former Tattnall baseball standout Brannen Veal, former football player and coach Tommy Seward, and ex-Northeast track standout Cynthia Cornelius.
The 1973 Mount de Sales football team, which won the GHSA Class A state football championship, will be honored.
