Saturday's Daily News 'n Notes: Bleckley County's Patrick gets HC job; Peach County's Robinson re-signs; and more

Saturday’s Central Georgia - and of interest to Central Georgia - news and notes, compiled from staff reports, email reports, the web, and social media.

New head coach at Trion: Bleckley County’s Sean Patrick

Sean Patrick has been at Houston County and Bleckley County, and been in charge of some offenses able to move the ball and score points as a coordinator.

          Now, he’s the boss.

Trion, a member of Region 6-A that is will be in Region 6-A public in 2020-21, announced Patrick as its sixth head coach this century.

The Bulldogs have missed the playoffs only four times in that span. Patrick replaces Justin Brown, whose lone losing season was going 5-6 in 2019.

Brown resigned from his alma mater, located in Chattooga County west of Calhoun and not far from the Alabama border, in mid-February after going 53-36 in eight seasons.

Patrick was an assistant at ECI with current Veterans head coach Milan Turner, and was at Lincoln County and West Laurens before moving to Houston County with Von Lassiter, following Lassiter to Bleckley County.

Chiefs re-sign Peach County’s Robinson

Fresh off a big year in helping Kansas City get to the Super Bowl, Peach County alum Demarcus Robinson was re-signed by the champs to a one-year deal.

He played in every game, with 32 catches for 449 yards and four touchdowns. The fourth-round pick in 2016 has 75 catches and 949 yards with eight TDs.

He’s part of a pretty sporty unit with Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, and Mecole Hardman
