Wednesday's Central Georgia - and of interest to Central Georgia - news and notes, compiled from staff reports, email reports, the web, and social media.
Macon Bacon announce latest plans
A delayed start and fewer available seats await – hopefully – Macon Bacon fans.
The Coastal Plain League has pushed the start back to July 1, with the Bacon’s home opener a day later.

The Bacon will allow for seating capacity of 1,300 at Luther Williams Field, a drop of 2,000. More than 1,000 season-ticket packages have been sold.
Ticket holders will get word on the new process, including setting up a conversation with the sales staff.
Additional measures regarding health and safety will be taken.
Signings
Central boys basketball standout Tony Card signed Wednesday with Florida Gateway College.
Card did have a safe ceremony outside of the high school during a period in which seniors drove through a collection of teachers to get their caps and gowns.
FGC was formerly Lake City Community College, and the junior college went 20-11 last season. Card helped Central to a 23-8 record and the GHSA Class 3A Final Four in 2019-20.
