Around/About Central Georgia

Henley makes the cut at Wyndham

Cruising along with a birdie and a bunch of pars, Russell Henley hoped to avoid a bogey bug.

He didn’t, but countered two bogeys on the back nine with three birdies to finish with a 2-under 68 in the second round of the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C.

That put Henley in a tie for 48th, six strokes out of the lead.

Henley made the cut, which was at 3-under, and eliminated Kyle Stanley, Brendon Todd, Harry Higgs, Carlos Ortiz, and Charles Howell III, among others.

Henley shot 69 and 64 in the first two rounds last year en route to a tie for 31st finish.

Four players – Tom Hoge, Si Woo Kim, Talor Gooch, and Billy Horschel – are tied for first with 10-under 130s.
