Last week:  10-6

Season: 10-6

Within 7 points of margin: 3

Upset specials: None picked

Houston County at Crisp County

The Bears had to crawl back to beat Perry. Crisp County will make life much tougher, Houston County visiting a 3A team that just beat a 7A team 7-0 and has big-boy wins the past few years.

TSR pick: Crisp County by 13

Archer at Warner Robins

The Demons pretty much let a huge win at Valdosta slip away, between the inability to cap touchdowns with points-after-touchdown, play quality pass defense at the most crucial times, and get a run game going. They did everything but win, and they know it. Archer is a 7A program and ranked, but the Demons should be pretty amped. Execution in special teams, though, will again be huge.

Northside at Peach County, 8 p.m.

Between a new staff, new offense, some new players, and no spring practice, the learning curve is pretty steep for the Eagles. Last week’s struggles against a quality Veterans team were no surprise. But that thing about improving the first two weeks is awful tough when the second week brings a trip to Peach County.

West Laurens at Veterans

The team kicking itself the most all week in the area is West Laurens. The Raiders weren’t, in reality, a top-10 4A team entering the season, what with so many graduations. But they were good enough to go up 19-0 on Bleckley County, only to give up 27 straight points and lose. Veterans was in control over Northside, but didn’t deliver a knockout punch. If that happens this week, West Laurens can do to Veterans what Bleckley County did to West Laurens.

TSR pick: Veterans by 3

Dublin at Dodge County

They’re not region pals anymore, but that doesn’t mean the blood pressure won’t be high. The Irish are doing some rebuilding, and the Indians want to reverse last year’s fortunes and get back over .500 and work on some early momentum.

TSR pick: Dublin by 3
