Macon TD Club announces first players of the week
The club has two weeks worth of players to honor at its first meeting on Monday.
For Sept. 4, back of the week: FPD’s Jordan Jones caught seven passes for 128 yards and a TD in the win over ACE.
Co-lineman: Mount de Sales’ Kobe Butts had 12 tackles, 1 fumble recovery and returned an interception for a TD in the win over Jasper County/Monticello.
Co-lineman: ACE’s Tate Turner racked up 16 tackles with two pass breakups and a sack in the loss to FPD.
For Sept. 11, back: Jones County’s Javious Bond had six tackles, an assist, and two pass breakups in the loss to North Gwinnett.
Lineman: Jones County’s Matt Adams graded out at 86 perceont on the offensive line, with five pancake blocks.
Special teams: Tattnall punter Griffin Hardy punted four times and averaged 43.5 yards, important in the 7-3 win at Hawkinsville on Friday night.
The club meets Monday night at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth. Mark Schlabach of ESPN is the first speaker of the season.
