Most of the action came late, after ACE had a 2-0 lead after four. The teams exchanged 2-run sixth and 3-run seventh innings. Reese Thames and Avery Edalgo led ACE’s 8-hit attack with 2 each, Sophie Denny driving in 3 runs and Avery Stone 2.

Brentwood 14, GMC Prep 6
Addison Welch drove in 4 runs on 3 hits for the GIAA War Eagles, who took advantage of 5 errors by the GHSA Bulldogs. Callie Jones had 3 hits and 2 RBI and Natalie Collins 2 hits and 3 RBI, Skylee Duggan with 3 hits and 2 RBI. Haley Knight, Allie Deason, Madi Mullis and Lauryn Simpson each had 2 hits for GMC.

FPD 9, Piedmont 1, 5 inn.
Gracyn Fuller whiffed 13 batters in 5 innings for the win. J Jones had 2 RBI for the 6-hit Vikings, who scored 6 unearned runs on 4 errors and 3 wild pitches.

Lamar County 4, Upson-Lee 3
The Class A Trojans walked it off when Braylleigh Ziehme’s bases-loaded sacrifice fly to left with no outs brought in Bayley Gunter with the winner.

Northside 9, Warner Robins 6
The Eagles had enough after two innings, thanks to some of Warner Robins’ 9 errors and 2 wild pitches, leading to 5 unearned runs. Also aided by 9 walks, the Eagles needed only 4 hits. Jiyah Holt had 2 hits for the Demons.

Perry 12, Schley County 0, 4 inn.
Five errors led to five unearned runs as Perry rolled in non-region play. Natalie Myers, Avery Grant, Rachel Driver, Emersyn Preast each had 2 hits for the Panthers, Myers and Grant with 3 RBU each and Preast with 2 doubles.

Veterans 12, Northside 5
Rizzy White had 3 hits and 4 RBI – courtesy of a grand slam - to lead Veterans. Kalleigh Stokes added a solo homer for the Warhawks, who held a 17-5 hits advantage. Maddy Kinkade went 4 for 5, Veterans getting 2-hit nights from Rayven Hodridge, Hailey Maloney, and Braylin Horton.

West Laurens 13, Houston County 4
The Raiders scored in all 6 innings, aided by 4 Bear errors and 4 unearned runs in the non-region battle. Piper Lambert had 3 hits and Olivia Buffone 2 for Houston County, which clinched its fourth region title in five years on Tuesday.

Three area football games on tap

Two Central Georgia football teams are on the road and one is at home in Thursday action.

Central welcomes Jefferson to Thompson Stadium and Jasper County is at McNair in GHSA Class A/Division I action, while Westside visits Callaway in AA action.

Jefferson County and Central are again winless. The Warriors won 18-0 last season in the regular-season finale, breaking a 20-game losing streak. Central hopes to do the same and stop an 18-game slide.

Jasper County is 6-0 overall and 2-0 I n4-A/I, while McNair is 1-5 and 0-2. The Hurricanes are winning by 28 points a game.

Westside is off to a 1-5 start, its worst in program history. Callaway is 4-2 and 1-0, winners of four straight, a run during which the Cavaliers have allowed only 10 points, with two straight shutouts.
