4A Perry, 1-1 at No. 7 Houston County, 2-0
Perry surprised with how sharp it was in the opener, and how it was handled in the second half a week later. The Bears are getting 104 more yards a game so far, sparked by QB Ryan Maxwell. If you’re looking for a game to check out, put this high on the list, because it can get funky.

5A Northside, 0-2, at No. 11T Warner Robins, 1-1
This qualifies for a GOTW because of tradition. It’s hard to say if Northside made progress (no public stats), but the Baldwin loss (with 5 minutes left before weather won) might be a spark. Warner Robins (no public stats) had a nice rebound from the Game 1 loss. How Northside looks will be interesting, because it’s likely to take until midseason to see clear progress.
