Class 5A
Houston County 12, Perry 7
This was the lowest-scoring game in this series since Houston County’s 10-9 win in 2010. Reid Ginn’s 8-yard keeper put Perry (1-2) up 7-0 late in the first half. The third quarter was a scoreless defensive battle, the Bears (3-0) finally cutting into the lead on Ryan Maxwell’s 42-yard pass to M.J. Mathis early in the second quarter. After catching a long pass, Western Ard ran it in from 10 yards out for the first fourth-quarter score, the Bears again failing on the conversion with a full 8 minutes left in the game. Perry got inside Houston County’s 30 in the final minute.

Jones County 27, Hampton 0
The Greyhounds (2-1) led 10-0 at halftime on a first-quarter field goal and second-quarter touchdown run. Travis Miller’s long TD run put Jones County in control early in the third with a 17-0 lead.
Warner Robins 22, Northside 13
The Demons (2-1) took the lead on a Chandler Dyson to Peyton Zitterman 11-yard pass less than five minutes into the game, Dyson carrying in the conversion. Travis English’s 70-yard run set up his 1-yard Wildcat-snap TD run with just less than four minutes left in the half, pulling the Eagles (0-3) within 8-7, a Northside interception keeping it a one-point game at the half. A 7-yard burst off the left side by CJ Gunnings and PAT made it 15-7 with 8 minutes left in the third, the Eagles then getting within 2 on a perfect touch pass from JD Garman to Jaydon Wright from 13 yards out with 5 minutes left in the third. It stayed tight for more than a quarter until Dyson kept it around the left side and blasted through a hole for a 42-yard touchdown with 1:25 left in the game. The Demons’ ninth straight win – on a night in which the schools named the McConnell-Talbert field house after coaching legends Robert Davis and Conrad Nix – was the fourth by single digits, and is the longest winning streak in the rivalry.
Class AAA
Mary Persons 42, Butler 0
The Bulldogs made it a beatdown before the first quarter was up, with a blizzard of touchdowns for a 35-0 lead. Quarterback Mac Nelson passed for 3 touchdowns and ran for another, CJ Banks adding a score on the ground. It was Mary Persons’ largest shutout margin – officially, excluding a forfeited 55-0 win last year over Fayette County – since a 55-0 hammering of Columbus in 2023.
Peach County 56, Berkmar 8
The Trojans put up 56 points for the second straight season, matching the total in last year’s 56-33 playoff win over Chestatee. It’s the largest margin of victory for Peach County since 63-7 over Pike County late in 2022.
West Laurens 28, North Clayton 22
The hosts were in some trouble for a half, trailing 15-0. Shannon Adkins got them on the board with a 28-yard score five minutes into the third, and they tied it a few minutes later on Ty Cummings’ 65-yard run. North Clayton took the lead early in the fourth quarter, only for the Raiders to tie it on Adkins’ run midway through, and taking the lead a few minutes later on a long scoring run from Branden Brooks. The Raiders (2-0) then recovered a fumble inside their own 20 in the final two minutes.
Class AA
Westover 30, Westside 0
Westover led 12-0 at halftime, and added 2 touchdown passes and a run in the second half. The last time Westside was blanked was 49-0 by First Baptist Christian in Florida early last season.
Class A/Division I
ACE Charter 33, Jefferson County 12
For the second week, Jefferson County made a playoff-caliber team sweat in the first half, trailing ACE only 13-6 at halftime. The Gryphons (2-0) got some cushion on Bryson Vincent’s 1-yard run midway through the third quarter, and added a 19-yard Bryson run and 14-yard Brayden Vincent run in the fourth quarter. Jefferson County managed a touchdown in the final 67 seconds. Bryson Vincent ran for 3 touchdowns, and Noah Syme added a 77-yard kickoff return. Bryson ran 25 times for 154 yards.
Bleckley County 40, East Laurens 0
It took the hosts a little time to get going, but they scored 3 touchdowns in the final 4 minutes of the first quarter – a short run from Deondrez Robinson, a 72-yard pass from Brody Fleming to Jordan Stanley, and 11-yarder to Conner Cairney - to gain control. Between quarters, Bleckley County retired the No. 65 jersey of standout lineman Amarius Mims, now with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals. And the Royals kept on rolling, leading 27-0 en route to their 10th straight win in the series, and biggest since 59-7 in 2019.
Dodge County 46, Central 8
The Indians wasted little time in gaining control, with three touchdowns in each fo the first two quarters. Kain Mincey threw for 2 scores with Jamal Smith running for 2 more. Central broke the shutout late in the third quarter.
Dublin 48, Southwest 6
What started as a close game ended as a familiar one. Southwest woke up Irish early by taking a 6-0 lead late in the first quarter on a touchdown pass from Jonathan Hurley to Lavaris Harris, but it didn’t last long, Dublin getting rushing TDs from Jeff Davis and Trav Bostic within a few minutes of each other for a 14-6 lead after one. Two more rushing touchdowns in the second quarter gave Dublin a 28-6 halftime lead.
Jasper County 42, Wilkinson County 12
The Purple Hurricanes left the Warriors black and blue, marching out to a 28-6 halftime lead. J.T. Thomas ran for a touchdown and threw for one, Chance Ross adding a pair of rushing touchdowns. The defense forced 3 turnovers.
