Howard welcomes Hephzibah in big region game
The records aren’t very good, but that doesn’t mean that Howard’s game Thursday night at Thompson Stadium against Hephzibah isn’t big.
The two are among three 0-2 teams (both 1-3 overall) in Region 4-AAA, and the loser can just about forget about the playoffs. The GHSA this week released the first postseason rankings, and Hephizbah is 35th and Howard 59th. The top 32 teams make the postseason.
Based on that, the Rebels can afford perhaps one more loss, but the Huskies need to get on a roll. Howard won last year’s first meeting 42-20.
Howard’s stats aren’t updated on MaxPreps. Hephzibah averages 211.5 yards a game on the ground, 88.8 through the air.
The Rebels are outscored by 11 points a game, 15.8 for the Huskies.
