Howard was down 27-0 with a full four minutes left in the first quarter, before rallying to pull within 13 temporarily, only for the visitors to quickly regain control. Julius Ramsey ran hard all night en route to 169 yards on 29 carries, but Hephzibah countered with 336 rushing yards on 46 carries. Howard quarterback Zavion DeShazier was 11 of 18 for 113 yards and two interceptions.

Former Mercer trainer Murphy focus of another abuse lawsuit at N.C. State
Rob Murphy worked at Mercer for more than a decade. The first lawsuit against him with such charges in August of 2022 followed by another in January of 2023. He was apparently fired in the summer of 2022.
Murphy worked at Mercer from 1999 until early 2012, having been named as an assistant athletics director in 2008. He was hired at N.C. State in December of 2011.
