Scouting Reports for Thursday’s HS games
Thomas County Central, 9-0/5-0, at Northside, 3-6/1-4
The Eagles have slim playoff hopes, and now welcome probably the state’s top program and a burgeoning dynasty. The Yellow Jackets are 62-3 under former Jones County head coach Justin Rogers, and on a 24-game winning streak, with a state title along the way. TCC has won four straight over Northside, the last two by 132-0.
Central, 3-6/1-5, at Rutland, 3-6/1-5, Ed DeFore)
Winning the last game of the year and doing so over a county school motivate the Chargers and Hurricanes. Both broke long losing streaks early in the season and have gone through struggles since. Rutland is outscored by 12 points a game to 17.9 for Central, which leads the series 10-6 but has lost two straight. Rutland gets 188.9 yards a game on the ground, led by B Billy Roquemore’s 72.6.
