Henley slips a little at Pebble Beach
Russell Henley lost a little ground in the second round of Pebble Beach, but he’s still in contention.
Henley shot a 3-under 69 on Friday and dropped six spots on the leaderboard, yet remains only six shots behind leaders Akshay Bhatia and Ryo Hisatsune.
Henley is tied for 17th, with Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Bud Cauley, and Chris Gotterup.
The second round was fairly pedestrian for Henley, who avoided bogeys but managed only three birdies, in a four-hole span to start the back nine.
Henley avoided a bogey after finding two roughs on No. 2, starting off a round with more than a couple two-putt pars. But he couldn’t get back on the birdie track on the final holes.
