Solid final round puts Henley in top 10
Russell Henley spent a nice Sunday afternoon on the golf course, nothing but birdies and pars.
It wasn’t enough to put any pressure atop the leaderboard, but it lifted Henley into a solid top-10 finish heading into The Players Championship.
Henley shot a 4-under 68 to finish in a tie for sixth with Sahith Theegala and MinWoo Lee, the three picking up checks for $702,000 at five shots back of Akshay Bhatia and Daniel Berger.
The Stratford grad was first for the tournament in scrambling, fourth in shots gained putting and sixth in shots gained around the green and feet of putts made.
Up next is The Players Championship starting Thursday in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. After winning the Arnold Palmer last year, Henley tied for 30th at The Players.
