Walk-off bomb from Mary Persons’ Christman leads Georgia Southern
Henley picks up some ground in Augusta
For the second day, Russell Henley watched a decent round stymied at the end.
Henley bogeyed the final two holes to drop to a 1-under second-round finish but still move up nine spots into a tie for 24th.
Henley is in a logjam with Ludgiv Aberg, Scottie Scheffler, Harris English, and Dustin Johnson, all even after two rounds and six back of second place and Sam Burns and Patrick Reed, who are six shots behind leader and defending champ Rory McIlroy.
Nos. 17 and 18 were issues for the second straight day for Henley with another pair of bogeys.
His 15-footer for par on 17 was a little wide right, and he went from sand to far off the green on 18, avoiding a possible double bogey.
Henley improved on greens and fairways hit, but remained about the same putting.
He tees off Saturday at 11:54 a.m. with Dustin Johnson.
