Henley climbs up the leaderboard ladder

Steady play returned to Russell Henley in the third round of the Travelers, setting him up for a possible top-10 finish.

He turned in a bogey-free round with five birdies – four in the final six holes – for a 5-under 65, putting him at 9 under for the weekend.

He was done pretty early on Saturday, and tied for 16th when he hit the clubhouse a little before 2 p.m., which was a chunk before the leaders teed off.

His placement dropped down into the 40s, then crept back up into the 20s, ending up in a tie for 28th at 9 under, with six more at 10 under and eight at 11 under.

His 65 was the third-best score of the day, with several at 63 and 64, 20 players shooting 65 or better.

Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler are 1-2, a stroke apart, with two players four behind Scheffler.

Henley tees off Sunday at 12:40 p.m., with Bud Cauley. He’s then off until mid-July and The British Open at Royal Birkdale.
