The Bacon rebounded from their first loss in awhile with a win in the regular-season finale. Nicholas Richardson had 3 hits and Houston Markham and Aiden Zagryn 2 each for the Bacon, who got 10 strikeouts from 7 pitchers.
Macon hosts the winner of Sunday’s Forest City-Asheboro West Division playoff game on Tuesday. Morehead City won the East, with Wilmington and Holly Springs in the Sunday playoff.

Henley remains in contention despite odd day
If Russell Henley took a little more aspirin than usual at the end of the day, it’s understandable.
A warm front 9 turned into a cool back only for the third round of the Rocket Classic to end with an exclamation point.
Two holes after missing a 45-footer for a birdie that turned into a bogey, Henley drained a 45-footer on No. 18 for a 3-under round and a tie for 17th.
Sunday could be a slugfest at the Detroit Golf Club, with 38 players – more than half of the remainng 73-player field - only six shots back of leader Davis Riley, who opened the weekend ranked 146th in the FedExCup.
Actually four of the top six players on the leaderboard started on Thursday outside of the top 100.
Henley has had interesting weekend, with the same score in each round but playing some different golf.
Like a 45-birdie after a three-putt bogey. Or the 96-yard approach on No. 1 that set up a 7-foot birdie, countered by a 96-foot approach on No. 10 that preceded the first bogey of the day.
He’s tied for eighth in driving accuracy and is sixth in putts per greens in regulation, and an above average 62nd in driving distance at 299.2 yards.
The Stratford grad tees off Sunday at 11:39 a.m. with Adrien Saddier and David Lipsky.
