One of the PGA Tour’s most accurate drivers had a day that took some whiteout to that ranking.
Some tee shots seemed to have some drone to them, not going where Russell Henley usually sends them.
But his short game was solid and Henley avoided exacerbating things for an impressive tie for 20th in the final Rocket Classic in Detroit.
Henley’s 69, after three 67s, was a severe grind en route to $109,500.

On bogeys on No. 6 and No. 11, it listed his tee shot as heading “to unknown” rather than rough or bunker, indicating a shot into the crowd.
Then on No. 13, he had to take a drop in the cart path after a tee shot.
Yet on a day made for a couple double bogeys and maybe a triple, Henley avoided disaster, starting and ending the day with birdies, including on three of the final four holes.
He went from 40 feet to 17 inches to set up the bogey on 6, from 23 feet to 16 inches on 11, setting up fairly easy bogeys.
Henley went from 52 feet to 4 feet on No. 7s bogey, and 28 feet to 19 inches on a No. 13 bogey.
He was less than 8 feet from an ace on par-3 No. 15, got within 19 feet from 153 yards on No. 16 for birdie, and adding some icing with a 51-footer for birdie on No. 18.
For the round, he was first with 161-4 of putts made.
On Sunday, he was 68th in shots gained around the green, tied for 41st in driving accuracy – almost 10 percent points below normal – and tied for 64th in greens in regulation.
Henley was initially listed as being in the Wyndham Championship this week, but is not participating. Up next is the Fed Ex St. Jude Championship in Memphis Aug. 13-16.
