Houston Markham went 3 for 6 with 4 RBI from the leadoff spot for Macon, which scored 9 runs in the final three innings, while Carson Zagryn went 4 for 7 with 3 RBI and Max Prozny 2 for 4 with 4 RBI. Nine Bacon had hits, 11 scored runs and eight drove in runs.
Four pitchers combined to strike out six with three walks, allowing only 6 hits, but one for extra bases.
The game ended around 10 p.m., and both teams then proceeded to make the 4-hour, 220-mile ride to Macon for Wednesday’s second game, at Luther Williams Field.

Burress’ first professional hit is, yeah
On Monday, Drew Burress was assigned to Stockton of the Class A California League.
On Tuesday, he was in uniform and in the lineup. And showed why.
The Houston County grad batted leadoff for Stockton, and sent the second pitch of his pro career pretty far over the left-field wall at Excite Ballpark in San Jose.
He finished 1 for 3 with a strikeout, walk, and lineout to second in Stockton’s 5-4 loss.
The Ports have 29 games left.
