The visitors turned a 4-2 deficit after 2 innings into a 1-run lead after four and made it stand to tie the Coastal Plain League West Division best of 3 championship series.

Carson Zagryn and Stephen Jordan each had 2 hits and 2 RBI for Macon, which struck out 9 times and earned only 3 walks. All 8 Bacon hits were singles, while Forest City had three extra-base hits – including 2 homers - out of its 7.
The Owls, who survived 3 errors – 2 in the ninth - by shortstop Reggie Tuggle, held off a ninth-inning rally when Macon got the bases loaded with 1 out only for winning pitcher Mark Sallacio to get a strikeout and then a game-ending fielder’s choice grounder to second.
The Bacon stranded the tying run in the final three innings.
