Falcons take battle of 5-win teams

Atlanta got two Devonta Freeman touchdowns inside the first six minutes and the Falcons topped Jacksonville 24-12 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Falcons have won five of their last seven games and improved to 6-9.

Matt Ryan passed for 384 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions on a 32-for-45 day. De’Vondre Campbell led the other side of the ball with nine tackles.

Gardner Minshew struggled to a 13-of-31 afternoon for 181 yards, although he led them to a late spark that was soon squelched.

Former Northside standout Abry Jones had a tackle for the Jaguars.
