What Central Georgians have already won GHSA state track championships? What teams are in the hunt for the top of the podium? Day 1 results are in

          At least one Central Georgia high school track team is seriously in the hunt for a GHSA state championship as action continues Saturday throughout the state.

          Meets involving Central Georgia teams were held in Albany, East Jackson, and Rome, battling assorted weather elements throughout the weekend.

          Bleckley County’s boys were in first place after Day 1, with East Laurens fifth. The Royals’ girls were fourth, the only other area team in the top 5.

          Veterans' Mitchell Westlund, West Laurens' Keira Davis, East Laurens' Rashund Washington, Hawkinsville's Mason Coley, Bleckley County's Ryder Garrett, and Bleckley County's 4x800 boys relay woke up Saturday as state champions.
