The lead was 27-0 before Tift County broke the shutout with less than a minute left in the half. By then, Ryan Maxwell had thrown for 2 scores and the Bears got rushing TDs from Dakavion Maynard and Western Ard. The 5-0 Bears cracked 50 points for the second time this season, and are 5-0 for the second time in three seasons.
AA No. 7 Burke County 28, Northside 14
The Eagles fell to 0-4 for the first time since 1964.
Class 4A
Perry 28, Veterans 15
It was 7 all at halftime, Perry breaking the tie in the third quarter on a pass of nearly 30 yards from Reid Ginn to Daccorion Daniels, who shortly afterward ran in an insurance touchdown.

The Greyhounds responded from last week’s last-minute loss to Ola with a season high in points and scoring margin to improve to 3-2 and 2-2. Every team in 2-4A has a region loss, and seven teams have a winning record.

Sandy Creek opened a 21-0 lead before the Knights scored, and led 28-7 after a half.

The Raiders got in running-clock territory before the first 12 minutes had passed, and did all of their scoring in the first half. West Laurens got 2 touchdown runs from Cason Pollack, rushing scores from Ty Cummings and Jayce Blash, plus a Shannon Adkins fumble return in the first quarter.

The teams were tied at halftime and through three quarters, Hawkinsville scoring on a touchdown run and getting the conversion about three minutes into the fourth quarter. The Red Devils sealed it with a field goal in the final 2 minutes.
Class A/Division I
Dodge County 32, Vidalia 13
The Battle of the Indians went Dodge County’s way in the third quarter, Vidalia taking a 13-12 lead at halftime. A TD pass early in the third quarter put Dodge County up for good, and the defense threw a second-half shutout. Kain Mincey completed 12 of 23 for 206 yards and 2 TDs, Jeremiah Alston and Joshua Devin each catching 79 yards in passes. Dodge County’s defense held Vidalia to 99 yards passing and 93 yards rushing.
Dublin 37, East Laurens 13
Fans no doubt did a double-take seeing the early score, East Laurens – down 1-30 in the series – leading 13-0 after a quarter, and then still 13-0 at halftime. That lead lasted until 3:59 remained in the third quarter, Dublin going on to score 37 straight points in less than 20 minutes. The Falcons led after TD passes from Sky Snead to Bryson Hazley and Tawan Horne, within the first seven minutes and 14 seconds. East Laurens held off Dublin until Dontavious Cannon’s 2-yard run with 7:47 left in the third.
Then Trav Bostic went in about four minutes later from 11 yards out, Urick Andrews’ PAT putting Dublin on top. Cannon added another score, being joined by Jamarcus Knight and Dorian Carcamo (fumble return). Dublin’s defense stuffed the East Laurens run game to a minus-27 mark, Snead having a nice night completing 15 of 27 for 173 yards. Knight led the 252-yard run game for Dublin with 102 yards on 11 carries, two of Cannon’s nine carries going for touchdowns. Both teams lost 3 fumbles and had an interception.
Jasper County 35, Jackson 18
The Purple Hurricanes led 14-12 at halftime on scores from JT Tyhomas and Tyrin Epps. Epps scored again, and was joined by a Zach Smith defensive score and Brelynd Beasley touchdown on a fumble recovery.
ACE 44, Wilkinson County 19 (click here for full story)
The Gryphons followed up last week’s big win over Dodge County by taking some control with a 15-6 second quarter and then finishing strong with a 19-6 second half. ACE’s defense was efficient, despite the Gryphons being outgained 366-350. Bryson Vincent had a night with 171 yards and 5 touchdowns on 33 carries, plus a conversion. Ace Hatcher completed 8 of 11 for 115 yards before an injury, Brady Balckom catching 3 passes for 69 yards. Wilkinson County’s Quinterrion Stanford was 22 of 42 for 250 yards, with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He cruised past the 1,000-yard mark in passing, entering the game with 917 yards – as per the Georgia High School Football Daily – to lead A/II.

The Trojans never trailed, leading 14-6 at halftime and taking control with 2 touchdowns in the third quarter. Bulloch, the defending 4A champs, managed 2 fourth-quarter touchdowns. Asa Wall caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Lewis Cheney, and broke off a 78-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, after Duke Hurt went in from 69 yards. Cheney added a 2-yard run in the second quarter. He passed for 127 yards, while Hurt led the 277-yard rushing attack with 144 yards. Bulloch ran for 214 yards, but was only 3 of 15 passing for 40 yards.
Stratford 28, Frederica 13 (Click here for full story)
Tyler Stephens ran for 219 yards and 2 TDs and racked up an interception to lead Stratford. The Eagles trailed 13-6 at halftime, but as has been the case all season, they emerged from the break ready to take over. He scored on a 54-yard run early in the third quarter, then added an interception, followed 3 plays later by another touchdown as Stratford improved to 4-0 for the second straight year.
Loganville Christian 27, Piedmont 10
FPD 21, Pinewood 10
A week ago, Brookstone grinded its way past FPD, which did the same against Pinewood. The Patriots had four more first downs, but FPD had a 20-yard total-offense advantage on 2 more plays. The Vikings never trailed, scoring first on Major Simmons’ 8-yard pass to Marlon Kramer six minutes into the game, Pinewood then settling for a 37-yard field goal early in the second. Simmons connected with Breck Griffin from 9 yards out three minutes later, Pinewood getting a TD pass in the final 30 seconds of the half for a 14-10 FPD lead. It stayed that way for almost all of the second half, Simmons going in from 18 yards out with 30 seconds left in the game. He led FPD with 73 rushing yards on 16 carries, completing 10 of 15 for 127 yards and 2 TDs. Pinewood QB Sam Wasson ran for 115 yards on 31 carries, and was 11 of 15 for 123 yards.
Strong Rock 42, Tattnall 0
The Patriots led 14-0 at halftime followed with a pair of two-touchdown quarters.
Tiftarea 20, Westfield 19
Class AA/A
Gatewood 13, Mount de Sales 10
The teams were tied at halftime, the Cavs taking a 3-point lead on a 45-yard Landon Frawley field goal late in the third quarter. The Gators took the lead on a rushing touchdown with less than 4 minutes left in the game. Mount de Sales turned it over on downs in the final minute.
Brentwood 51,Thomas Jefferson 14
The defending AA champs were in running-clock territory after one with a 30-0 lead, which they upped to 44-8 at halftime.
Tristan Robinson had TD runs of 7 and 16 yards in the first quarter, Brentwood getting a Jones Sheppard run and TD pass from Baylor Cobb to Zyion Andrews in that full first half.
Central Fellowship 36, North Georgia Tribe 7
Judson Walls had 2 touchdown runs and 2 interceptions, and caught a touchdown pass for the Lancers. TJ Coley ran for 2 touchdowns and Shepherd Tanner added a field goal.
Trinity Christian 50, Windsor 35
The Crusaders kept the Knights out of the end zone in the second quarter, and that was the difference. TCS led 15-14 after a quarter, then won the second quarter 21-0. Wade Register went off for 212 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns, quarterback Jakob Sahli adding 100 yards and a score on the ground to go with a 6-for-8 night for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns. Register caught 2 passes for a team-high 59 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Register was perfect on 6 PAT attempts.
