Games of the Week

No. 5 LaGrange, 6-1/4-1, at Mary Persons, 4-2/2-2
The Bulldogs are good for a win over a ranked team each season, whether Mary Persons is ranked or not. LaGrange is one of two remaining chances, and its Mary Personsโ€™ best chance. But the Bulldogs need a good game to get momentum and close out strong to clinch a playoff spot.
TSR pick: LaGrange by 13

No. 8 West Laurens, 6-0/4-0, at Richmond Academy, 3-4/3-2
Richmond is one of those squirrelly teams to watch out for. The Musketeers biggest margin of defeat is 12, to a decent AA Thomson, and one loss came on a pick-6. Theyโ€™ve won three of their last four, and could easily by 5-2 or 6-1. This might be the game the Raiders have to break out the passing game.
TSR pick: West Laurens by 13

John Milledge, 5-1/1-0, at FPD, 6-2/2-0
If you want to see one of the best players in the state, George S. Johnson is the place to be, for John Milledge tight end/linebacker Asa Wall, son of head coach and former UGA fullback J.T. The younger Wall can do it all, and plays all over the field. FPD may be without QB/DB Major Simmons (concussion protocol), almost as big a loss on defense as on offense. Even if cleared, itโ€™s a bigger-picture (i.e. state championship run) gamble to play Simmons much, if at all, since region titles have no bearing on anything in the GIAA other than bragging rights. The Trojans are the best GIAA team in the state, no matter the health of the opponent.
TSR pick: John Milledge by 20
