Central Georgia's high school football rankings

What with about 20 teams idle this week, and a bunch of ranked teams, we know that there’ll be little movement next week.

And even with most everybody playing last week, we don’t have a lot of changes. But in the next two weeks? Buckle up.

Despite the road loss, Northeast stays atop Division II. And it’d be easy to lump No. 2-6 into a tie, because, man, they’re pretty interchangeable.

Yes, Bleckley County slips past Lamar County into No. 2.

Remember right here last week:. “       Nos. 3-6 are about even, for a week or two. And if Bleckley County’s pass coverage gets going against Northeast this week …”

The gap in Division I remains the same. Mary Persons is on the fringe, but probably won’t be next week, joining Upson-Lee and Warner Robins, the latter of whom has fallen completely out of fringe contention (for the year).

The gap in Division II is really tighter, and could get a little white-knuckleish in a week or two. But No. 10? We came very close to vacating it for the week.

 Division I (5A, 4A, 3A) 12 teams
5. Perry, 4-3
4. Jones County, 5-2
3. West Laurens, 6-0
2. Peach County, 7-0
1. Houston County, 7-0

Division II (2A, A, GIAA) 33 teams
10.  ACE Charter 4-3
9. Brentwood, 7-1
8. FPD, 6-2
7. Jasper County, 7-0
6. John Milledge, 5-1
5. Dodge County, 6-1
4. Dublin, 5-2
3. Lamar County, 6-0
2. Bleckley County, 6-1
1. Northeast, 5-2
