There were some huge games, a few surprises, and some stabilizing last week.

But more than ever, the list of rankable teams in both divisions is pretty hefty.

Some regular seasons are done, but there’s a plenty of drama left and questions to be maybe answered.

This week, our  potential poll-shakers: Houston County-Northside, Warner Robins-Jones County, Peach County-Baldwin, Jasper County-Aquinas, Swainsboro-Dodge County; Marion County-Taylor County.

Division I (Classes 6A, 5A, 4A, 13 teams)

5. Baldwin, Perry

Baldwin’s win over Mary Persons – despite a surprisingly weak home “crowd” – was a big one. Now, Peach County and a chance, win or lose, at a statement. Perry racked up a shutout last week not too many people would’ve predicted a month ago, and can get two straight.

4. Warner Robins
The Demons are likely to be back in form after losing to Ola, with a trip to Jones County Friday. They’ll need to be in form.

3. Jones County
The Greyhounds responded properly after Perry’s smack in the face.

2. Houston County
Still a hard team to figure out, the Bears are a postseason wildcard with the right matchups.

1. Peach County
The Trojans just keep on keepin’ on, a poster child for consistency.

Division II (Classes 3A, AA, A, GIAA, 33 teams

10. Lamar County
The Trojans have a chance to build some quality momentum heading into the postseason.

9. Jasper County
It was quite the statement last week, Jasper County – when can we all move on from using “Monticello” pleeeeasee? – hammering Putnam County. Could be a “watch us after 10 games” statement.

8. Macon County
Staying focused amid weak competition is important the next two weeks.

7. Taylor County
The unforgettable season continues, but the Vikings better have executed the 24-hour rule after the rousing comeback win over Schley County.

6. Dodge County
The cringes and verbal reactions from watching the tape of the Dublin loss and the mistakes were no doubt plenty. If the Indians respond properly, the next four or five weeks might be quite interesting.

5. Stratford
The cringes and verbal reactions from watching the tape of the John Milledge loss and the mistakes were no doubt plenty.

3.  Bleckley County
It was a good time for a week off to get healthy for a postseason run.

2. Northeast, John Milledge
One took care of business, one survived a road trip to Macon.

1. Dublin
The overall performance, especially the late comeback, against Dodge County is the kind of game that pushed a team onto a state title podium.
